NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Aug WTI $66.48/bbl down 25 cents/bbl Aug BRENT $66.28/bbl down 37 cents/bbl

Crude futures moved lower on Friday.  Following on from losses made the previous day. Crude fell after the release of downbeat unemployment data from the US and Europe. The data revealed that June jobless figures in the US rose to a 26 year high, while European unemployment hit a 10 year high.

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened $12.50/tonne softer Friday. Second half August price indications were pegged at $594.50-597.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, first half September at $590.00-593.00/tonne CFR Japan and second half September at $586.50-589.50/tonne CFR Japan.

 BENZENE: Prices edged lower to $845-855/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea with offers for August loading cargoes heard at $855-860/tonne FOB Korea countered by bids at $835-845/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices were notionally pegged unchanged at $760-770/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea amid thin trading. A sole offer for any September loading was heard at $760/tonne FOB Korea.
