Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical to restart cracker by 2 Dec

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical plans to restart one of the two lines at its 700,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Jinshan, Shanghai by 2 December following a one-and-a-half month turnaround, sources close to the company said on Friday.
The 300,000 tonne/year line was shut on 15 October for turnaround and was earlier planned to restart within the second-half of November.
The company’s other 400,000 tonne/year line located at the same site is running normally during this period, they said.
“The 300,000 tonne/year line will be restarted on 1 or 2 December,” the source said.
Meanwhile, ethylene spot prices plunged by $50.00-80.00/tonne (€38.50-61.60/tonne) to $1,170-1,230/tonne CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia during the week ended 23 November on ample supply, according to ICIS data
