ICIS News : 8-Feb-13 13:25
LONDON (ICIS)--Honeywell has won four contracts worth a total of $40m (€30m) for work on the Borouge petrochemicals complex in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, the US-based petrochemicals engineering and production firm said on Friday.
Honeywell is to be the main automation contractor (MAC) for the project, and will provide integrated control and safety systems to German company Linde and other engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contractors working on the scheme, Honeywell added. The work is to be carried out over the next 18 months.
The contracts relate to work being done on Borouge 3, the latest part of the complex, currently being developed by owners the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (Adnoc) and Austria-based chemicals company Borealis.
Borouge 3 will have a predicted nameplate capacity of 2.5m tonnes/year of olefins and polyolefins when it comes onstream in mid-2014. Honeywell’s technologies were also used in the development of Borouge 1 in 1999 and Borouge 2 in 2010.
