SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Dutch specialty chemicals firm DSM has completed the sale of DEXPlastomers, a joint venture between DSM and an affiliate of ExxonMobil Chemical, for an undisclosed fee to Austria’s Borealis, the companies said on Monday.

DEXPlastomers is a 50:50 joint venture between DSM and Exxon Chemical Holland Ventures that produces C8 plastomers and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) at its site in Geleen, the Netherlands, DSM said in a statement.

DSM also sold its LLDPE compact solution technology to Borealis, it added.

The transaction was earlier announced in November 2012.

“Borealis has started the integration of the new site and its activities… to ensure continued punctual supply to customers,” Borealis said in a separate statement.
