BASF adipic acid production unaffected by Ludwigshafen fire

LONDON (ICIS)--Adipic acid production at BASF’s 260,000 tonne/year plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, is still running, following a fire on Tuesday morning, a company source confirmed on Wednesday.

The fire has limited packaging and filling operations, which have been suspended as a precaution while a root cause analysis is conducted. Nevertheless, BASF is able to fulfil its customer requirements and the plant has been undamaged by the fire, the source added.
