SABIC to postpone Geleen BD turnaround - sources
ICIS News : 1-Feb-13 17:44
LONDON (ICIS)--SABIC Europe will postpone a planned March-April maintenance turnaround at its butadiene (BD) extraction unit in Geleen, the Netherlands, because of planning issues, market sources said on Friday.
The turnaround, which was due to begin around 22 March for about two weeks, will be postponed for at least 12 months.
According to sources, the decision to postpone the shutdown is not related to the ongoing strike at the company’s Geleen site.
The strike began on 31 January and has led to capacity at the two crackers, the BD unit and other derivative units being reduced.
