NOVA to shut down Canada cracker in May for 45 days

HOUSTON (ICIS)--NOVA Chemicals plans to shut down its Joffre E2 cracker in Alberta for a 45-day turnaround in May, a company spokesperson said late on Thursday.

The cracker has 816,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity. The shutdown will begin in mid May, the spokesperson said.

NOVA has two other crackers in Joffre, one of which is under a partnership with Dow Chemical, with a combined 2m tonnes/year of capacity.
