Germany PCK refinery to begin work on €160m modernisation project

LONDON (ICIS)--Germany’s 12m tonne/year PCK Schwedt refinery will next week begin work on a €160m ($208m) modernisation and maintenance project, it said on Friday.
The "Optimix 13" project at the refinery northeast of Berlin involves installing a new fluid catalytic cracking reactor, a new refinery column and a new furnace, as well as maintenance and inspection work on 19 processing facilities at the site, the company said.
After weeks of preparation, installation work will begin on Monday, 8 April and is expected to be completed on 3 May, the company said.
In addition to fuels, the refinery produces propylene and other petrochemical products, according to information on its website.
PCK Schwedt’s shareholders are Shell, BP, Rosneft, ENI and Total.
