Saudi Arabia port congestion to worsen from next week

DUBAI (ICIS)--Port congestion in Saudi Arabia is expected to worsen from next week ahead of the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr in late July, industry sources said on Wednesday.

“We normally see congestions worsen two weeks before Eid-ul-Fitr,” according to a Saudi-based polymer source.

Affected ports include Dammam, Jeddah and Jubail, industry sources said.

Polymer buyers said they expect delays of five to seven days due to the worsening congestion.
