 Arch Chemicals is a biocides and speciality chemicals manufacturer and supplier whose business is split into two business segments: Treatment Products and Performance Products.      

The Treatment Products division includes businesses involved in water products, wood protection, industrial biocides and health and hygiene products, and personal care products. The Performance Products business consists of the performance urethanes and hydrazine businesses.

Arch Chemicals’ strategic focus on growth opportunities in its core businesses and strong cash flow generation. It will seek acquisitions in biocides to further boost its position in that market and states that it sees “strong” potential for calcium hypochlorite, best known for cleaning pools and spas.

Arch Chemicals is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, US and has around $1.5bn in sales (2008) and approximately 3,000 employees.
