Lonza will focus on the implementation of its growth strategy which includes key areas such as operational, technical and leadership, innovation, and commercial performance.

 

It will implement its strategy by focusing on vigorous internal organic growth and permanently adjusting its portfolio of chemical and biotechnology businesses.

 

Realignment and growth in defined life-science markets are primary objectives. In addition, the company will focus on the integration of the acquired Genetech’s mammalian cell culture facility in Porrino, Spain, and Cambrex’s microbial biopharmaceuticals business.

 

Its strategy includes focusing on the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and vitamins and building up its research and development capability.

 

Lonza is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, with sales of SF2.9bn in 2008 and employs around 8,462 people worldwide.
