Mitsubishi Chemical is a diversified chemical company involved in petrochemicals, polymers, agrochemicals, speciality chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The company's main focus is on three business pillars: petrochemicals, performance and functional products, and health care.
In petrochemicals, Mitsubishi Chemical will expand its operations in the Asian markets. In performance and functional products, it will accelerate progress by increasing the ratio of new products and reinvigorating the business as a group. For health care, it will focus on the globalisation of its pharmaceutical business and the development of new ventures in response to “the rapidly changing medical care environment in Japan”.
Mitsubishi Chemical will reinforce its management based on strengthening business strategy and market development. It states that it has made progress by promoting various measures for business restructuring and alliances.
Mitsubishi Chemical with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, has around 53,907 employees and sales of Yen 2,515bn in the fiscal year to March 2010.
