Biofuel and the environment

dustbowlSo, biofuel growers how much drier was it in the 1930s? I've had a look around for rainfall data in the US . Something that you'd think there'd be a lot of... There is but the free stuff is on paper and not easy to crunch down into sensible chunks. Anyway, winter is drawing in and the nights are getting longer and I may have some time later... to work my way through Climates of the World data. The tables are at the bottom of the pile (of course) and its not clear until you get to the bottom of them which years they cover (of course) but it looks like it might be from about 1930 to about 1960. I found the data through weathermatrix a handy guide to what's available.

The picture is from the USDA.
