Honewell UOP to develop US and Nato Jet fuel: Update

Honeywell UOP today announced it and a number of other companies received $6.7 million in funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop and commercialize renewable energy for use by U.S. and NATO militaries

The technology will convert vegetable and algae oils to a military jet fuel known as Jet Propellant 8 (JP-8). It will also be viable for future use in the production of jet fuel for commercial jets.
