According to researchers from the University of Copenhagen, there is no difference in taste and nutritional content between an organically grown fruit and vegetables, and food grown with the use of pesticides and chemicals.
"Modern crop protection chemicals to control weeds, pests and diseases are extensively tested and stringently regulated, and once in the soil, mineral nutrients from natural or artificial fertilizers are chemically identical. Organic crops are often lower yielding and eating them is a lifestyle choice for those who can afford it."Their study was published in the latest issue of the Society of Chemical Industry's (SCI) Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.
When my sister often tells me that organic food is better tasting than regular ones, could it be that it's all in her head and that she has been duped by an industry who charges triple for their products?
I wonder if the same research applies to organic botanicals for cosmetics...

I expect that this study will ignite a fertilizer-storm in the green community.

I don't think it's in my head that the tomatoes out of my garden have a much nicer and fuller taste than the perfectly shaped, chemically assisted overgrown varieties from the supermarket
