Algae chemical partnership
Blue Marble Energy and Bionavitas formed a partnership where Blue Marble Energy will produce high-margin biochemicals from microalgae supplied by Bionavitas.
Clean fuels from syngas
Honeywell's UOP LLC company expanded its alliance with Rentech to support clean fuels production, adding UOP gas processing technology for the treatment of synthesis gas from sources such as biomass, natural gas and coal.
Coke's cogeneration plant
GE Energy, the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company S.A., and the energy development company ContourGlobal started a new cogeneration plant at Coca-Cola Hellenic's Ploiesti bottling facility near Bucharest, Romania.
PV buyout in India
KSK Surya Photovoltaic Venture Pte. Ltd. has agreed to buy
two SunFab thin-film lines from Applied Materials to manufacture
high-power-output 5.7 m2 solar panels, to be installed in what will be
India's largest PV factory.
Clariant's EcoTain label
Clariant launches EcoTain
- a new label concept designed to clearly identify its green products
and processes to customers in various industries like personal care,
detergents, industrial home care and coatings as well as the deicing
markets.

Second-generation biofuels are close to becoming commercially viable,
which could be a huge step toward significantly reducing greenhouse gas
emissions, according to Frost & Sullivan.
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has acquired biodiesel component production assets in the Czech Republic from Czech-based company Via Chem Group.
Canada will spend C$865m ($824m) to help fund a carbon capture and storage project at the Shell-led Scotford oil sands upgrader project in the Alberta province.
