Blood on the Trading Floor

The high price of crude, unplanned plant outages, force majeures, difficult customers – these all add to the stress of the trader’s life. No wonder then that violence can break out on the trading floor.

    Well, it looked the guy really deserved it for throwing things – and those annoying phone rings would drive anyone bonkers.

    At a former company of mine, the two price reporters in London covering the same commodity got into a fist fight over an assessment a few years ago. At least they were unarmed, not something you can count on in Houston!
