Top 10 Most Dangerous Places to Work

The London-based risk consultancy, Control Risks, has devised a list of the Top 10 most dangerous places in the world to work, as measured by the number of times the company’s registered clients requested each country’s page on its Forecast online services.

It would be fair to assume that a considerable number of those weighing up the risks of working in these countries would be in the oil and chemical sectors. And what is the UK doing in at number 7 ?

1 Mexico
2 Pakistan
3 India
4 Angola
5 Nigeria
6 Madagascar
7 United Kingdom
8 China
9 Algeria
10 Phillippines
(List based on number of hits.)

Hi Barbara, this is a really great top ten list. It is not surprising to see Mexico at the top of the list, the regard for safety is a different standard than it is here in the US. Anyone can post their own list to our site http://www.toptentopten.com/. The coolest feature is you can let other people vote on the rankings of your list.

I haven’t been in the Philippines for 9 years but I don’t recall many big chemical and oil plants there. Also, the country’s not that bad except for the occasional muggers on the streets of Manila. Now if you go to the jungle part of Southern Mindanao, that’s another story but who would want to work in a jungle??
