South Africans joke through power cuts

Our South African chemical friends are suffering along with the rest of the population from the ongoing power cuts, which are now entering their third week. A lack of new power plants and increased energy demand have left the country short of power, so that whole regions are dark for up to five hours a day as street lights shut down. We hear one joke going the rounds in Jo'burg: "What's the difference between the Titanic and South Africa? The Titanic sank with the lights on."
