News and Darts in Houston

Our Houston managing editor, Stephen Burns, has produced a video to celebrate the annual ICIS news (www.icis.com) meeting in Houston, which took place on the eve of NPRA.

Click here to see the 74-second video.

The meeting was to discuss news coverage strategy and operational issues (he writes), and brought together ICIS staff from the Americas, Europe and Asia, underscoring the global reach of the news service.

Aside from the news meeting, there was serious inter-regional work to be done on the dart board ahead of NPRA. Stephen Burns from the Houston office secured the temporary individual crown from his long-time nemesis and full-time boss, Andy Soloman, in a rivalry that is fanned by their native Australia vs England status.

In team play, ICIS event organiser George Lowrie was outstanding, coming through undefeated with rotating partners including technology guru Richard May and ICIS senior editor Ed "The Closer" Cox, who pulled off an outstanding individual streak of rapid 501 finishes on the doubles.
