India's jet-set private planes impounded

Mukesh Ambani, chief managing director of India's Reliance Industries, has had two of his executive jets impounded by Indian customs officers in investigations into unpaid tax on these and other luxury aircraft belonging to the country's super-rich, according to an article in TimesOnline.

At least ten aircraft have been impounded in the past two weeks and hundreds more are being looked into. There is speculation that one of the jets is the $59 million Airbus A-319 which was a birthday gift for Mr Ambani's wife Neeta on her 44th birthday last year, an event which was widely covered by envious bloggers at the time.
