On official photos

I come across the US refinery propylene guys including our esteemed NPRA chairman of the IPC program committee, Jerry C and the spiky but boyish Jim McL lounging in the Marriott Riverwalk lobby late on Monday night, sporting some colourful off-duty leisure wear.

They are passing around a cruelly cropped photo of Ish, and the conversation turns to the quality of the photos of the august NPRA committee in the conference handbook.

Jerry tells us he had to produce the photo at short notice so his wife knocked off a couple of snaps at home, and it is now these that grace the pages of the conference booklet.

npra booklet 60.jpgThe Blog is no stranger to fuzzy photography, and there is much to be said for a flattering, slightly out of focus picture.

Soon the beloved caricatures of the ICIS bloggers are to be replaced with professional portrait photos. I see my fellow blogger Paul Hodges has already put his new photo on his LinkedIn page. Spot the difference.
