Industry press pack out and about at NPRA

san antonio rexfeatures_460066a.jpgThe industry press corps was out in force at Monday night's NPRA parties. I didn't see any at the Shell cocktail apart from ICIS, but the whole CMAI, Tecnon and PCI crowd were at Mitsubishi.

A friend at CMAI said that their pre-NPRA event in Houston had seen a pick-up in numbers to around 950 this year.

The Blog had already heard from Andy N at DeWitt that its own pre-NPRA event in Houston was dwindling. It will need a new format, he said.

The Blog shared some oysters and champagne at the Mitsubishi event with Tamsin, Roger and Gillian from Tecnon.

The DeWitt guys were over at the SABIC function, and we came across the ChemWeek two in the Oxea party next door.

The Blog was particularly happy to meet up again with Frances M, formerly of ICIS Houston, now at Townsends, whom we hadn't seen for years.

There was iPad 2 madness at NPRA! Expo Chemical, along with Amchem and Blentech held their 10th annual pre-NPRA Party Saturday afternoon in the River Terrace Room of the Marriott RIverwalk. There was plenty of wine and cheese to warm up the NPRA pre-party scene. Rumor has it Doug Van Ornsdale of Arr-Maz Products was a lucky recipient of the much coveted iPad at the event.
