The hunt for the iPad 2 leads to Houston

Apple retail store London.jpgOnly a diehard cynic would connect this year's upturn in European travellers to the two NPRA conferences (oil and chemicals) with the launch of the iPad 2.

Far-fetched you might think, but hark, isn't that the sound of distant tweeting?

"No sign of an #iPad2 at the Houston Apple store. People were queuing from 4am apparently. Will have to wait for the UK release," I read on Twitter from a London-based friend now working the parties of the oil NPRA (20-22 March in San Antonio)

Rumours are sweeping the tech team at ICIS that the UK release, scheduled for 25 March, will be delayed or only see a very limited number of the tablets available, but this was denied by Apple today.

word on the street is that the Japan disaster will delay the launch

It may not only be i-pad madness as there appears to be similar hype on the launch of latest Nintendo DS 3D model. We must all be mad.....
