Polycarbonate Europe Transcript
The European Polycarbonate report is published weekly on a Wednesday. We cover GP moulding and GP extrusion quarterly contracts.
The reason we cover the report as a weekly report is because there are many different end uses of polycarbonate, things like automotive, construction, optical media. And for our customers to get a holistic picture and understand what’s going on in each of those individual markets they need a service like us that talks to all of the actors.
Another important factor with polycarbonate is there is strong import and export activity between Europe and Asia. And to fully understand what’s going on, then they need to be talking to multiple actors. I mean, ICIS have a very strong offering, not only in Europe, but also in Asia and that allows us to see across the different regions and build up a picture of what exactly is happening in the market and find out exactly why it’s happening.
We speak to buyers, we speak to producers, and we speak to traders, and we try and speak to as many of the involved parties as possible and the reason for that is because that means we increase the accuracy, the reliability and the scope of our service. And that’s what our customer really rely on us for.
