China sets slower energy consumption targets for the Five-Year period

The Chinese government will endeavour to control its average annual energy consumption growth at 4.3%, slowing down from 6.6% annual increase realised in the previous five years, according to the plan.

Total primary energy consumption will be limited at 4 billion tonnes of standard coal equivalent by 2015, with electricity consumption below 6,150bn kilowatt hours.
