Spanish Gamesa gets 76 MW turbine order
Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa this week signed a EUR 70 million turnkey contract for wind generators with 76 MW of capacity. Work will start in January to install the 38 turbines of 2 MW each in two winds parks near the central city of Ciudad Real. The order from wind park developer Grupo Corporación Eólica CESA brings capacity supplied to the company by Gamesa to 409 MW. Spanish wind power capacity increased 15% last year to 5,060 MW putting it second worldwide after Germany
with 12,836 MW. This week Denmark’s Vestas said it has agreed a 165 MW deal to supply an Italian subsidiary with 195 wind turbines of 850 kW each for Sicily and Sardinia. Italian Wind Technology is Italy’s largest wind park operator with 500 MW of capacity. DM
