UK Heren Index for April drops to £18.27/MWh

The April 2004 monthly UK power Heren index* stands at £18.27/MWh, marking a £1.01/MWh decrease on the March 2004 index of £19.28/MWh. However it is £2.69/ MWh higher than the April 2003 index of £15.58/MWh.

The volume of trading activity during the EFA month of March (23rd February-28th March) for the EFA month of April (29th March-25th April) — i.e. the trades used to calculate the index — amounted to 11,697 MW (7,860 GWh).

This month’s index was calculated using the 544 GTMA April ’04 Baseload trades reported to The Heren Report during the EFA month of March 2004, with deals struck between £17.48/MWh and £19.35/MWh. GR

*The Heren Monthly UK Power Heren Index is a weighted monthly index of GTMA trades quoted to EDEM. It is used by Ofgem as a basis to calculate the Scottish Wholesale Electricity Price.
