31 Aug 2005 00:00:00

The value of shares for the IPO of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGOC) monopoly has been put between PLN 2.46 and 2.98 (EUR 0.61-0.74), placing the total market value of the company between PLN 14.5-17.6 billion (EUR 3.64-4.38 billion) according to media reports on Wednesday.

The IPO in this range could raise over PLN 2.6 billion in the impending first phase sell-off of the Polish gas monopoly by the Polish government, handsomely beating the PLN 1.55 billion the Polish treasury hoped to make (see ESGM 11.167). Registration for the issue is taking place between 1st-15th of September.
