French-German cross-border auction cost up 21% for October

The cost of cross-border monthly capacity for October from France to Germany was EUR 2.52/MWh, according to French grid operator RTE on Tuesday. The cost was 21.15% higher than the September cost of EUR 2.08/MWh.

Eight of 26 participants were successful in securing capacity. Available capacity stood at 299 MW, down 251 MW on the previous month.

From Germany to France, the auction price settled at EUR 0.88/MWh, up from EUR 0.70/MWh for September, according to RWE Transportnetz Strom on Tuesday. A total of 1,000 MW was made available, 8,785 MW was requested and 999 MW obtained.

Since January 2006, a coordinated auction of all three transmission system operators —RTE, EnBW Transportnetz AG and RWE Transportnetz Strom — manages Germany to France cross-border capacity. KT
