Dresdner Bank applies for British licence

Germany’s Dresdner Bank has applied for a British gas shipper licence, regulator Ofgem said on Wednesday.

The company set up a gas trading desk in London this summer and plans to start at the NBP. It also trades continental power and carbon.

Belgian utility SPE has also been granted a shipper licence, Ofgem said. LB
