Swiss reservoirs stable in Week 35

29 Aug 2007 00:00:00

Swiss hydropower reservoir levels remained more or less stable in Week 35 (21st-27th August) falling 0.1 percentage points to 87.1% fullness, according to the country’s federal energy office BFE.

The move is 1.7 percentage points lower than the ten-year average increase for Week 35, and is 1.8 points below the 2006 week-on-week increase, shortening the year-on-year differential to +3.4 points, the narrowest of the year to date. The 87.1% fullness level is the second highest point reached so far this year. The week-on-week drop was the first fall since Week 16.

The Week 35 figure represents an estimated hydropower reservoir capacity of 7,449 GWh. Maximum reservoir capacity is 8,550 GWh. KT
