LNG fleet lifts disappointing Exmar
Exmar's LNG fleet was the sole bright spot of the Belgian shipping company's performance in the first half of 2010.
The LNG business contributed $23.8m profit to the business for the six month reporting period, a 19% year-on-year increase, Exmar said.
Overall, the company slumped to a net H1 loss of $48.3m.
Exmar reported that the 138,000m3 Excel was redelivered in May from a short-term charter with Norway's Statoil. It currently is fixed to Morgan Stanley on a six-month charter to year-end at $22,000/day.
Meanwhile, the Belgian firm said that the 138,000m³ Excelsior, which had been moored at Bahia Blanca, carried out her first scheduled drydock in March which lasted three weeks. The Excelerate also underwent similar work in April.
