Dutch gas-fired electricity plant delayed

15 Nov 2011 15:29:02 | edem esgm

Dutch electricity company Eemsmond Energie (EE) will begin constructing a 1.2GW natural-gas-fired combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant in August 2014, it said on Tuesday.

This is two years later than the original start date of September 2012. EE said it is waiting for a recovery in energy markets.

EE gave no information on when the plant would be brought on line.

The plant will run at an efficiency of 60% and is reported to cost €1.2bn.
