Italy considers subsidy for biogas - AEEG

02 May 2012 20:55:11 | esgm

Italian biogas producers may soon receive government incentives, in a bid to boost the country's use of natural gas from renewables.

Italian regulator AEEG launched a consultation, which will close on 31 May, to establish the priorities within a future regulatory framework for biogas as well as the approval procedure for new plants.

The final directives on biogas will be issued in September, AEEG said in the document. It proposed to give a central decision-making role to transmission system operator Snam Rete Gas in relation to biogas.
