Gazprom finalises Hungarian section of South Stream natural gas pipe

31 Oct 2012 17:31:16 | esgm

The final investment decision (FID) on the 229km Hungarian section of the planned South Stream pipeline has now been taken, Gazprom announced on Wednesday.

The planned 63 billion cubic metres/year South Stream pipeline will take Russian gas under the Black Sea through Turkey and southern Europe to Italy.

The FID formed part of a new shareholder agreement for project company South Stream Hungary, signed by project partners Gazprom and the Hungarian transmission system operator MVM. Earlier this week Gazprom and Serbian gas incumbent Srbijagaz signed an FID for the Serbian section of South Stream.
