Did you see the warning last week from the IChemE to MPs? The Institution seems really concerned that a skills shortage is going to impede the much-needed development of alternative energy. Its president Richard Darton is calling for urgent action to attract 'inspirational science teachers', particularly of physcis and maths. He says government has to work with industry to 'inititate a step change in support of science education'. That's all very well, but what exactly can industry do? Any suggestions?
