Are you ready to enter this year's awards? Entry forms will be available from April onwards from www.icis.com/awards. Do you have a winning innovation - either a new product, business innovation or a CSR initiative in you company - then now is the time to think about putting it forward? The Awards, now in their fifth year, are sponsored by Dow Corning.

Also, here's an interesting article on how to get the best out of innovation, written after a survey of ICIS Chemical Business readers and a high level Roundtable on innovaton, both sponsored by Celerant Consulting.

Right! The awards are now live - you have until 4 July to enter. You can find more details, an article on the awards and a call for entry leaflet and entry form at http://www.icis.com/awards. The year, ICIS and sposor Dow Corning have decided to introduce two new categories: best business innovation and best innovation in the field of corporate social responsibilty (CSR). There is of course, still the category for the best overall product innovation and a category for best innovation by a small or medium-sized entrerprise. So, no excuse - get those entries rolling in. I might even highlight a few as they coem in on this forum!

Hey customiser, didn't I hear you on ICIS radio this week. How can you innovate in "corporate social responsiblity" whatever that is? Either you're a responsible company or you're not. Good to see the small guys getting a break too.

I just attended BIO's World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing conference in Chicago, which ended today. Definitely a lot of innovation going on in this end of the industry especially for bio-based chemicals.

Hey Humphry - glad to hear you're listening into the excellent ICIS radio service.

The idea withthe CSR award is to recognise the effort and excellent some companies are putting into getting the sustainability message over to employees and external stakeholders. Check out a few of the recent CSR reports from the likes of DSM and BASF. Perhaps you might encourage entries through ICIS radio in future!

Is there any one out there looking to enter the ICIS Innovation Awards 2008? I've had several enquiries already - but as ever, expect all the entries to appear in the last week of the competition. Deadline remember is 4 July, so you've only got a matter of 4-5 weeks to get going.

Full details are listed on the Awards web site www.icis.com/awards.  You can see pictures of last year's winner in the photo section of this site.

I forwarded the info to some of my contacts. Flavors and fragrance company Symrise said they're interested.

Hey customiser, don't get down hearted. There'll be a rush at the end, was it mentioned in ICIS Chemical Business lately?
