&lt;p&gt;Not sure if anyone knows too much about &lt;a target="_blank" title="butanediol (BDO)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1,4-Butanediol" rel="nofollow"&gt;butanediol (BDO)&lt;/a&gt; but it is used in various industries, most notably auto but also used for Spandex, plastics, fibres and polyurethane production.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I wonder how far off this sugar-based option is from widespread applications but would be interested to hear people&amp;#39;s thoughts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
