ICIS CA Carbon webinar: How the fuels sector exclusion could change the game

Houston, March 5 2014 – As part of the series of free market information that ICIS provides, we will be hosting a webinar on Thursday 13 March at 1pm EDT to discuss the impact of the proposed move to exclude the fuels sector from the California Cap and Trade scheme.

We’ve already seen that the announcement of the potential exclusion from the cap and trade scheme hit the last ARB auction. When combined with the fact that carbon markets behave entirely differently to other commodity markets, it’s clear that understanding carbon market behavioral characteristics is essential if market participants are to make consistently good trading decisions.

So in part 3 of our webinar series we will discuss how policy changes can affect theCA cap and trade scheme and how ICIS can model this behavior to predict the impact on carbon prices.

ICIS has detailed insight into carbon market trading patterns: our unique Timing Impact Model (TIM) tracks and predicts market activity, including the time it takes for behavioral factors to affect prices.

Join this webinar to:

  • Gain insight into how policy can affect the CA carbon market
  • Understand how “uncertainty” can affect behavior
  • Learn how the TIM can be used to model policy changes
  • View our carbon price forecast updated for March 2014

After the presentation there will be a Q&A session. If you can’t make the live webinar, please register to receive a link to a recording of the webinar.  All participants will also receive the presentation slides.
