Company Information from ICIS

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is a research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company engaged in pharmaceutical products, vaccines, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and health-related consumer products. GSK is involved in four major therapeutic areas - anti-infectives, central nervous system (CNS), respiratory and gastro-intestinal/metabolic.

The company will focus on its key strategies of optimising the performance of marketed products, delivering the product pipeline for patients, improving access to medicines and maximising total shareholder return. Sales growth of existing products and launch of new products are key drivers of GSK’s business performance. It says that it is mitigating the impact of generic competition by introducing improved versions of established medicines and driving growth of its other key products.
