LONDON (ICIS)--Fluor has won another contract from BASF for work on a toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) facility being developed at the German chemicals giant’s Ludwigshafen complex, the US petrochemical engineering company said on Tuesday.
Fluor is to carry out engineering, procurement and construction management services for the project, which is expected to begin production in the fourth quarter of 2014. No financial details were disclosed.
Expected to be a single-train plant with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year, the new facility will produce TDI and expand additional plants as precursors for polyurethanes (PU), Fluor added.
Fluor has been involved in the project since 2011, carrying out front-end engineering and design (FEED) and pre-FEED work for the plant.
