SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhongyuan Dahua Group has shut down its two 15,000 tonne/year melamine units at Puyang in Henan province because of shortage of feedstock natural gas, a company source said on Thursday.
The units were taken off line early this week, the source said.
“The shutdown will take around two months,” the source said.
Natural gas supply is usually tight for industries during winter, as supply to civilian use for heating purposes is prioritised, according to the source.
Zhongyuan Dahua’s bigger melamine plant with a 30,000 tonne/year capacity will be also taken off line next week for the same reason, according to the source.
