MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Chang Chun Plastics plans to shut its phenol/acetone plant at Changshu in China’s Jiangsu province in the second half of 2014 for maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

The plant, which was commissioned in August 2013, can produce 300,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 185,000 tonnes/year of acetone.

The exact schedule has yet to be finalised, the source said.

In addition to the planned overhaul at its Changshu plant, the company plans to shut its phenol/acetone plant at Kaohsiung in Taiwan, which can produce 300,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 185,000 tonnes/year of acetone, for about a month in the first half of 2014.
