SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co (FREP) achieved on-spec production at its aromatics facility in Quanzhou on Friday, after restarting it on 17 December, a company source said.

“We will start delivering the material in three days’ time,” the source added.

The aromatics facility was shut on 20 October for maintenance and debottlenecking works.

After debottlenecking, the facility can now produce 360,000 tonnes/year of benzene from its previous capacity of 260,000 tonnes/year, the source said.

Paraxylene (PX) production at the Quanzhou facility has also been raised to 800,000 tonnes/year from 700,000 tonnes/year, according to market sources.
