SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China imported about 2.2m tonnes of crude from Iran in November, doubling the 1.1m tonnes posted in October and also an increase of 25.9% on a year-on-year basis, official customs data showed.
Iran was the third biggest crude supplier to China last month, following Saudi Arabia and Oman, according to China Customs.
Saudi Arabia and Oman shipped 4.2m and 2.3m tonnes of crude to China in November, respectively, accounting for some 18% and 9.7% of the country’s total imports of 23.6m tonnes in the month, the data showed.
Total Iranian crude imports in January-November this year were 19.3m tonnes, down by 1.1% year on year.
