HOUSTON (ICIS)--US November daily butadiene (BD) production from crackers was 2.9% higher month on month, according to data released on Friday from consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy.

The firm’s Hodson Report showed US daily cracker BD production at 8.28m lb/day (3,800 tonnes/day), up from 8.05m lb/day in October.

Most of the increase came as US cracker operating rates increased during the month, to 94.3% from 92.4%.

Additionally, the US cracker feedslate shifted 0.4% heavier in November, owing to increases in naphtha and butane usage.

Butane usage climbed to 5.1% in November from 4.3% in October, while naphtha rose to 7.4% from 6.9% in the same time.

Ethane usage also climbed, to 62.9% from 62.5%, putting a cap on the growth of heavier feedstocks.

Total November BD production from crackers was down 0.8% month on month, owing to one less day of production than October.

Total production for the month was 248m lb, compared with 250m lb in October.
