HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) exports for November were down by 15% from the same month of 2012, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Thursday.
Exports decreased to 46,179 tonnes from 54,493 tonnes in November 2012.
The decline was mainly the result of South Korea imports decreasing to 11,617 tonnes, less than half of the 24,147 tonnes imported during the same month of 2012.
Other major importers of US ACN include Turkey at 6,975 tonnes, India at 5,950 tonnes and Mexico at 4,750 tonnes.
Month on month, US ACN exports in November 2013 declined by 18% from 56,392 tonnes in October 2013.
Major US producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone and INEOS.
