LONDON (ICIS)--European bisphenol A spot price ideas have risen for the first time since 13 September 2013 as domestic producers passed on upstream price increases, sources confirmed on Friday.

Spot prices were seen at $1350-1400/tonne FD NWE, up $20/tonne, despite little buying interest. Demand above agreed contracts is low, but in line with expectations as the market is in its first full week after the holiday period.

“There’s not much going on. Some people are asking but as usual during the last month, not many,” said one trader, while a second said:

“I think there is not so much activity until now. No panic, it is the second week of the year," it added.
