SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Nanjing Hongbaoli will shut its 150,000 tonne/year polyols plant for annual maintenance from 27 January to 10 February, a company source said on Thursday.

The shutdown will be during the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday period, when demand is traditionally weaker, the source said.

The Lunar New Year falls on 31 January.

The company has also built up sufficient stocks so there will not be any shortage of its product during the shutdown period, the source said.

Nanjing Hongbaoli produces various forms of polyols, such as base polyol, polyether polyol or rigid polyol, according to the company’s website.

Polyurethane (PU) rigid foam polyether, together with other raw material such as polymeric methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (PMDI), is widely used in construction and home appliances industries.
